For the offshore activities in FLC Marine, we are looking for skilled and dedicated Vessel Coordinator.

The Vessel Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the efficient operation of maritime transportation services. This position involves overseeing the scheduling, coordination, and logistics of vessels, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to safety regulations. The Vessel Coordinator acts as a liaison between various departments, stakeholders, and external parties to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.

Who is FLC?

Femern Link Contractors, FLC, is the joint venture responsible for the design and construction of the Northern Europe’s biggest construction project resulting in the longest immersed tunnel in the world. Our joint venture consists of nine international construction companies with individual experience in large infrastructure projects. Together, we are committed to working together to deliver a state-of-the-art immersed tunnel, portals and ramps, delivered on time and safely, in a sustainable and ethical manner.

Main responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Vessel Scheduling: Develop and maintain schedules for vessel departures and arrivals, taking into account factors such as cargo requirements, port availability, and weather conditions.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with port authorities, customs officials, and other relevant parties to ensure timely vessel clearance, berth allocation, and cargo handling.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for vessel operators, crew members, and shore-based personnel, facilitating clear and effective communication regarding operational requirements and updates.
  • Documentation: Manage the preparation and processing of vessel-related documentation, including cargo manifests, clearance certificates, and port notifications, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management: Monitor potential risks and operational challenges, such as inclement weather, port congestion, or mechanical issues, and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions to vessel schedules and cargo movements.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track vessel performance metrics, including turnaround times, fuel consumption, and compliance with safety protocols, and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvement.
  • Customer Service: Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to vessel operations, providing timely and satisfactory resolutions to maintain positive relationships and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Budget Management: Assist in budget planning and expenditure monitoring for vessel operations, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources and adherence to financial targets.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of relevant maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices, and ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and security requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvement initiatives and contribute ideas for enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and customer service within the vessel coordination function.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Maritime, Logistics, Administration back ground needed, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in vessel operations, marine logistics, or port management is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in maritime software applications, MS Office suite, and other relevant tools for scheduling, documentation, and data analysis.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues.
  • Familiarity with international shipping regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to changing operational requirements, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement in vessel operations.
  • Valid certification or training in maritime safety, security, or related areas is desirable.
