About FLC:

At Femern Link Contractors (FLC), we are responsible for designing and constructing the immersed tunnel, portals and ramps on both ends of the tunnel, in Rødbyhavn and Puttgarden.

We are also building the facilities for prefabricating tunnel elements as well as accommodation facilities, also known as the “Tunnel village” in Rødbyhavn, which provides housing for FLC workers.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Translate the overall execution strategy into detailed operational plans; coordinate daily planning activities and maintain a 3-day look-ahead; ensure availability of required resources and adjust plans as necessary.

  • Organise and ensure the overall execution of immersion pontoon and IVY operations; coordinate site works with vessel crews; organise and lead transfer operations; advise on improvements to project execution in line with operational planning, budget, and QHSE-S standards.

  • Supervise execution of the technical department’s scope of work; organise and supervise subcontractors; coordinate maintenance and repair activities with T&I operations and the commissioning team.

  • Monitor work performance, quality, and relevant KPIs; identify deviations and implement corrective measures in accordance with applicable guidelines and procedures.

  • Organise logistics within the assigned operational area in cooperation with marine departments and external parties; coordinate interfaces with T&I offshore supervisors, anchoring, diving, and ROV teams, as well as other offshore stakeholders.

  • (Co-)develop, implement, optimise, and continuously improve work processes, production activities, and operational methodologies.

  • Ensure compliance with QHSE-S objectives; execute works in line with these requirements; implement corrective and preventive actions and propose continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Plan, lead, and develop project team members; ensure adequate training; coordinate crew changes and crewing schedules with HR; manage accommodation, catering, travel, and logistics with FLC and hotels; monitor rest hours, sickness leave, and personnel compliance.

  • Act as Deputy Immersion Master; serve as Operations Manager during IVY trial phases and future operations related to Helen, conversion, and hook-up activities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in marine operations in a role such as Marine or Vessel Superintendent.

  • Engineering degree in a maritime-related discipline (e.g. Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering), preferably with structural and/or mechanical expertise and shipyard experience.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Proficient in MS Office and maritime safety management software.

  • Strong planning and organisational skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and provide effective direction during emergency response situations.

  • Proactive, results-oriented, and analytical mindset.

  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, all relevant documentation as well as the medical fitness and training certificates required to board vessels and perform duties on the assigned project(s), including but not limited to: valid passport, valid medical fitness / health certificate, basic safety training, including Sea Survival and First Aid (STCW and/or BOSIET).
