For the offshore activities in FLC Marine, we are looking for skilled and dedicated Logistic Engineer.
The Logistic Engineer plays a critical role in optimizing logistical operations, ensuring efficient movement of goods, and maximizing resource utilization. This position involves applying engineering principles and analytical skills to design, implement, and improve logistics processes, systems, and strategies to meet organizational objectives.
Who is FLC?
Femern Link Contractors, FLC, is the joint venture responsible for the design and construction of the Northern Europe’s biggest construction project resulting in the longest immersed tunnel in the world. Our joint venture consists of nine international construction companies with individual experience in large infrastructure projects. Together, we are committed to working together to deliver a state-of-the-art immersed tunnel, portals and ramps, delivered on time and safely, in a sustainable and ethical manner.
Main responsibilities (but not limited to):
Logistics Planning and Analysis:
- Analyze supply chain processes, transportation networks, and distribution channels to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
- Develop and implement logistics plans, strategies, and models to improve efficiency, minimize lead times, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Inventory Management:
- Design inventory control systems, including forecasting demand, setting reorder points, and optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts.
- Implement inventory optimization techniques, such as ABC analysis, cycle counting, and just-in-time (JIT) inventory management, to improve inventory turnover and reduce waste.
Transportation and Distribution:
- Optimize transportation routes, modes, and carriers to minimize transportation costs, reduce transit times, and improve delivery reliability.
- Design and implement distribution networks and routing plans to streamline the flow of goods from suppliers to customers, balancing cost considerations with service levels.
Warehouse Design and Layout:
- Design warehouse layouts, storage systems, and material handling processes to maximize storage capacity, optimize picking and packing operations, and minimize handling costs.
- Utilize engineering principles and software tools to analyze warehouse operations, improve workflow efficiency, and reduce labor requirements.
Technology Integration:
- Evaluate and implement logistics technology solutions, such as warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and RFID tracking systems, to automate processes, improve visibility, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
- Integrate data analytics tools and predictive modeling techniques to analyze logistics data, identify trends, and forecast demand to support strategic decision-making.
Continuous Improvement:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to identify inefficiencies, eliminate waste, and optimize logistics processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address logistics-related issues and improve overall performance.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, manufacturing, sales, and customer service, to align logistics activities with business objectives and customer requirements.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners, including suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers, to ensure seamless coordination and execution of logistics operations.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in logistics engineering, supply chain optimization, or operations management is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply engineering principles to complex logistics challenges.
- Proficiency in logistics management software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain concepts, including inventory management, transportation planning, warehouse operations, and distribution network design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Project management skills, including the ability to plan, execute, and monitor logistics improvement projects from inception to completion.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of logistics engineering.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodology, and other process improvement frameworks is a plus.
