For the offshore activities in FLC Marine, we are looking for skilled and dedicated Immersion Master.

The Lead Marine Transport and Immersion Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the marine transport and immersion operations for both standard (STE) and special (SPE) tunnel elements. The role ensures project objectives are met in terms of quality, health, safety, environment (QHSE), planning, operational excellence, budget, and compliance with applicable regulations and designs, while achieving stakeholder satisfaction.

Who is FLC?

Femern Link Contractors, FLC, is the joint venture responsible for the design and construction of the Northern Europe’s biggest construction project resulting in the longest immersed tunnel in the world. Our joint venture consists of nine international construction companies with individual experience in large infrastructure projects. Together, we are committed to working together to deliver a state-of-the-art immersed tunnel, portals and ramps, delivered on time and safely, in a sustainable and ethical manner.

Main responsibilities (but not limited to):

Project Management:

  • Lead operational installation for STE and SPE tunnel elements.
  • Coordinate immersion operations with tow master and IP barge masters.
  • Develop operation manuals, drawings, and contingency procedures from hook-up to post-immersion works.
  • Support basin master in float-up and transfer operations.
  • Manage operational interfaces with other departments.
  • Improve Immersion Pontoon and Tunnel Element Control Systems.
  • Update work method statements and operation manuals.
  • Develop procedures with the Marine Warranty Surveyor.
  • Focus on future maintenance and improvement requirements.
  • Participate in harbour and sea trials of Immersion Pontoons.
  • Maintain records of periodic checks and corrective actions.
  • Define necessary tools and equipment for maintenance.

Equipment Management:

  • Identify and select project equipment with key managers.
  • Manage equipment including immersion pontoons, anchor pontoons, tugs, and auxiliary vessels.

Human Resources:

  • Identify and select project-specific resources in collaboration with the HR department.

Procurement:

  • Assist in procurement tasks for equipment, spare parts, and consumables.

Execution:

  • Advise group managers on equipment choices and installation.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Manage transport and installation of tunnel elements, coordinating with various teams to ensure successful operations.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Qualified Civil or Maritime Engineer.
  • Minimum 12 to 15 years of experience in marine operations.
